For the 2021-2022 term, Arlyn Alonzo was the Vice President of the non-profit, Exceptional Kids Organization (EKO). EKO was founded over 20 years ago by a parent of a special needs child and a special education teacher to help address a shortage of social and educational opportunities for special needs youth in the South Bay area of Los Angeles County. Today, EKO’s officers and members are volunteers that serve over 500 individuals with developmental and physical disabilities from age 14 into adulthood, including many from disadvantaged situations.
